The Speedhorn Story

“How it happened”

Owner  and technician Gwilym Hughes was born in presteigne mid wales in 1981 and acquired his first motorcycle, a Suzuki TS 50 and his first car a mini clubman 1275 at the age of 13.

Before the year was out he had already  started the first major project, rear engined single seater dirt buggy using the running gear from the mini. As a self taught welder fabricator and mechanic the buggy took several years to complete with plenty of trial and error.

In 1999 Gwilym came to Spain windsurfing, fell in love with the sunshine, and basically never returnen to Wales. Although he didn’t always have somewhere to work on vehicles the passion never left and in 2017 with help from from the love of his life, mother of his child, receptionist and upholsterer , Yaiza Rifra Perez, Speed Horn especialices was formed from a life long hobby and a fairly substantial tool collection.

Now with the skills, ideas and passion anything is possible.
